Information Service Luxembourg (iSl) started in the mid-90s as probably the first Luxembourg Web portal and free hosting provider.

Being ahead of its time, iSl brought onto one site all the useful information one could seek for, including everything from flight schedules to search engines, from national news to events, and last but not least its own, highly popular free hosting services including homepages, email accounts and aliases.

As time passed by, other sites started up and iSl’s lack of resources in every aspect was the reason of its downfall. Its free services continued for a while but eventually had to cease operation.

This was followed by a couple of revival attempts but once popular iSl’s days of glory faded into the past.
